Talion Innswich is a really good storyteller and musician, he's a good speaker, ironic, sarcastic, a jaunty singer. Good skills but it's not so easy to find a place for arts in a starving world; nobles want only the old borying stories of the good old times, ever. Talion is ambitious and he wants to improve his position from poverty: he often lives by one's wits, street performances, petty thefts; despite his own sarcasm he suffers from his humble condition (but he'd never admit it). Add a casanova attitude and cowardice: this is the perfect frame for a person always in trouble, always running as fast as his legs can stand. Fortunately his legs are fast enough.

When he was trying to fill his pockets with old jewels pillaged from a ruined maldorite city, Talion came across in the middle of an ancient dark ritual run by the Cult of the Shadow. The troubadour ran away, of course, and now his adventures start and he's hunt by a dangerous and unknown cult...
